Five Saints Drafted in the NHL

              Woonsocket, RI- Congratulations to our five current or former players who were drafted in the National Hockey League in late July. Three of the players played for the Saints in the 2019-2020 season while two were members of the U18 team this past season. Here is information on all five players:

 

Zach Bolduc: Drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 1st round, 17th overall. 2019-2020 season played with our U16 team prior to leaving for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he was named the QMJHL Rookie of the Year. Bolduc was recently traded to the Quebec Remparts. In his two years in the QMJHL, Bolduc has 81 points in 82 games. Bolduc recently signed a three year entry level deal with the Blues.

Guillaume Richard: Drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 4th round, 101st overall. Richard played the 2019-2020 season with our U16 team before moving to the Tri City Storm of the USHL this past season. Richard, a Providence commit, will be playing for the Friars this fall after a successful season posting 16 points in in 46 games from the blue line.

Joaquim Lemay: Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 4th round, 119th overall. Lemay played the 2019-2020 season with our U18 team before heading to the British Columbia Hockey League to play for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. A Nebraska Omaha commit, Lemay had 26 points in 63 games for the Saints in his one season. He will be a freshman at UNO this fall.

Nate Benoit: Drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 6th round, 182nd overall. Benoit played the past two seasons with the Saints accumulating 83 points in 99 games from the blue line. A North Dakota commit, Benoit will join Victor Czerneckinair, Ryan Gordon, and Tanner Adams with the Tri City Storm this coming fall.

Owen McLaughlin: Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 7th round, 206th overall. McLaughlin came to the Saints this past fall and accumulated 54 points in 33 games for the Saints. A Penn State commit, McLaughlin will be playing for the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League this fall.
