Woonsocket, RI- The Rhode Island Saint M’s would like to congratulate veteran defenseman, Dylan Shane, on his commitment to Niagara University. Shane, a Pennsylvania native, is currently in his third year with the Saints. This season, Shane has posted a 2-10-12 line in 27 games for the Saints who have won the USHL Fall Classic and Elite 9 Prep League Championships respectively. In Shane’s first two season with the Saints (U15 and U16), he played in 64 games totaling 32 points. Here is what Coach Plante had to say about Shane:

“We are thrilled and very excited for Dylan and his family on his recent commitment to Niagara University. This opportunity for Dylan has been a long time coming and he most certainly has earned and deserves this opportunity to play college hockey at the Division 1 level. Niagara is a getting a great two way defenseman in Dylan. But even more importantly they are getting a person who possesses impeccable character and an impeccable work ethic as well. In the three years that Dylan has been in our program not only has he displayed a great ability to play and impact the game on the ice but he has also displayed great leadership qualities off of it. Dylan has been a captain and a leader on each of the three teams he has played for in our program with our U15, U16 and U18 teams. He is also a leader in the dormitory serving as a dorm prefect this year in his senior year and he is a leader in our school community at large. Dylan is a very humble and low maintenance young man who just simply puts the hard work in each and every day and his work ethic speaks very loudly to his personal success and our overall team’s successes at each level he has been at with us over his time with the Rhode Island Saint Ms hockey program and Mount St. Charles. We are very excited to see how Dylan will impact the Niagara University Men’s Hockey Program once he gets there in the future. We are all extremely proud of Dylan for earning this opportunity and look forward to what’s to come for Dylan and his family as the future is very bright for him in all facets of his life. Congratulations Dylan and truly well deserved! The best is yet to come!”
